When my daughter Chelsea was about 5 years old, I was getting ready for Court while trying to made her breakfast and get her off to school. She asked what I was doing in Court that day and I explained that I had a client who stole something and might be going to jail. She seemed perplexed and asked for more information. I proceeded to explain, “Well, Chelsea, suppose Mommy was walking in the park and a man came along and stole Mommy’s purse. The police would arrest that man and take him to jail.” Chelsea was quiet for a minute and then inquired, “But Mommy, why doesn’t he just use his wife’s purse?”
