It’s Like Watching Paint Dry

I guess with nicknames like water sprite, energizer bunny, and tsunami the reality of my habitual approach to life was destined to become known to my new design studio co-workers.

Happily I had one of the larger drafting tables so I could spread out at least three paintings to work on at the same time. And why you might ask? Even water color takes a few minutes to dry and water sprites don’t do minutes. Dashing from one painting to the next, changing brushes by keeping one in my teeth and other’s stuck between my fingers I became aware of a designer who’s table butted mine looking at me, head tilted, in quiet amusement. I glanced back at her and smiled, at which point she said, “Joann, you are like the theater.”
